The brief
A downtown plot with no laydown space meant steel had to arrive floor by floor, just in time, before Wuse traffic built up.
What we did
We ran early morning slots with crane trucks, staging loads at the mill the night before. Bars for each floor came on one or two trucks, in the order the fixers needed them.
The result
Fourteen months of floor cycles at seven to nine days each, with no steel stored on the plot for more than a day.
Lessons
A shared calendar in the customer area meant the site team could move a slot with a tap, rather than a chain of phone calls.

We never had more than a day of steel on site, and we never ran out.
