Day and boarding, ages 10 to 18
A good school is a long conversation between teachers, parents and the young people in their care
For 47 years, Ridgemere has given Ibadan's young people rigorous lessons, a full life outside the classroom and a steady sense of who they are becoming.
From the principal
Welcome to Ridgemere
When parents visit, they usually ask about results first, and they should. Our students do well in their examinations, year after year. But what I hope you notice as you walk around is something harder to put in a table: the way a senior student holds a door for a nervous new girl, the noise from the music block at four o'clock, the argument about a chemistry result that carries on into lunch.
That is what we are building here. Clear thinking, good manners and the confidence to try. I would be delighted to show you around.

Senior school curriculumWhat we value
Four habits we teach every day
- I
Curiosity
Questions are welcome in every lesson. Our best classes run on them.
- II
Discipline
Punctuality, neat work and finished homework, because habits outlast talent.
- III
Kindness
Seniors look after juniors, and everyone looks after the new student.
- IV
Service
Every student gives time to the school and to the community around it.
Beyond the classroom
Forty clubs, four houses and a choir that tours
Afternoons at Ridgemere are full. Students choose from more than forty clubs and societies, compete for their house in sport, debate and music, and give an hour a week to service. The chamber choir sings at the state arts festival every year.
