Welcome

Velvine is a small hotel kept by people who live in Abuja. We built it for the guest who has a long day ahead, and wants the night before it to be calm.

The Velvine family

We sit on a tree lined close in Asokoro, a few minutes from the Central Business District and about forty minutes from the airport when the road is kind. Our gates are manned day and night, our generators are silent behind a sound wall, and our staff will remember how you take your tea.

The quiet details

What a good night in Abuja needs

  1. 01

    Power that never blinks

Two silent generators, an inverter bank and solar on the roof. When the grid drops, the lights do not even flicker.

  2. 02

    Water you can trust

A treated borehole with daily testing, hot water in under ten seconds and filtered drinking water in every room.

  3. 03

    Met at the airport

Our driver waits at arrivals with your name on a brass card. Transfers from ₦45,000 each way in a saloon car.

  4. 04

    Safe, without fuss

Manned gates, cameras on every approach and staff who are vetted and trained. You will notice the calm, not the guards.

Guest notes

The first hotel in Abuja where I slept through the night. Nothing hummed, nothing flickered, and breakfast arrived exactly at six.

Chiamaka, example client

We held our board retreat in the Fern Room. The team had our slides on screen before we sat down, and the jollof at lunch started a debate.

Example client

Our children still talk about the pool and the man who made them pancakes shaped like stars. We are coming back at Easter.
