Overture. Couture from Yaba, since 2014

Atelier Noir

Gowns, tailoring and bridal cut by hand in a quiet studio off Sabo. Every piece begins with a fitting and ends when it moves the way you do.

Now showingNoir Mint, autumn and winter 2026

The film

Thirty seconds of Noir Mint.

Six looks, shot after dark in our Yaba courtyard. It plays when you reach it, pauses when you leave, and stays still in low-data mode.

Night falls on Yaba

Low-data mode is on, so the film is paused. Every look is still listed above as a still.

The full lookbook, with the menswear reel and every still, is on the film page.

The atelier

Eleven pairs of hands, three fittings.

Nothing leaves the studio until it has been fitted on you three times. That is slower than a tailor in a market stall and quicker than you think.

  1. Measure and listen

Thirty-two measurements and a conversation about where you will wear it: a church wedding in Enugu, a gala in Victoria Island, a winter dinner in London.

  2. Choose the cloth

Silks from our Lagos stock, aso-oke woven to order in Iseyin and adire dyed in Abeokuta. You touch every option before we cut.

  3. Toile on the form

We cut the pattern in calico first, fit it on you and adjust the lines before a centimetre of your fabric is touched.

  4. Handwork

Hems, beading and linings are sewn by hand. The Obsidian gown takes 140 hours, most of it at a single bench.

  5. Final fitting and pressing

A last fitting, a steam press and a garment bag with your name on it. Delivered by our own rider anywhere in Lagos.

What clients say

The gown moved like water at the reception and still looked pressed at two in the morning.

Three fittings felt like a lot until the third one. Nothing pulled, nothing gaped.

Temi, example client

They cut my agbada and a tuxedo for the same weekend and kept the pattern for my brother.

Chidubem, example client

Collected from Lekki, altered and back in four days, with a note on how to steam the silk.
